Responsibilities
- Assist senior advisors in researching and analyzing federal legislation and regulations
- Prepare policy briefs and memos for congressional staff and agency officials
- Monitor congressional hearings and committee markups to track bill progress
- Support stakeholder engagement through constituent correspondence and event coordination
- Contribute to advocacy campaigns by drafting social media content and newsletters
- Attend industry networking events and policy conferences on behalf of the organization
- Maintain legislative tracking databases and update internal policy calendars
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Political Science, Public Administration, or related field
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written communication abilities demonstrated through academic work
- Familiarity with U.S. legislative process and federal government structure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legislative databases (e.g., Congress.gov)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Interest in one or more policy areas: healthcare, environment, or economic policy
- Available for 20-25 hours per week during Summer/Fall semester
