Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning
- Develop hybrid quantum-classical workflows for real-world problem-solving
- Optimize quantum circuits for specific hardware constraints (superconducting, trapped ion, photonic)
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate algorithms into practical implementations
- Lead research publications in peer-reviewed quantum computing journals
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to our open-source quantum toolkit
- Secure research grants from NSF, DOE, and DARPA quantum initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent research experience)
- 3+ years of quantum algorithm development experience with Qiskit, Cirq, or PennyLane
- Deep understanding of quantum complexity theory and error correction techniques
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and quantum circuit optimization frameworks
- Published research in quantum computing or quantum information theory
- Experience with NISQ-era algorithm development and noise mitigation
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and computational theory
- Ability to communicate complex quantum concepts to interdisciplinary teams
