Responsibilities
- Design scalable quantum processor architectures using superconducting qubits and photonic systems
- Develop quantum error correction codes for fault-tolerant operations at scale
- Create hybrid quantum-classical software interfaces for enterprise applications
- Lead prototyping of 1000+ qubit systems by 2026
- Collaborate with AI teams to develop quantum machine learning algorithms
- Secure patents for novel quantum hardware innovations
- Mentor junior engineers in quantum physics and engineering principles
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering (MS with 8+ years experience)
- Proven experience with quantum gate operations and circuit optimization
- Expertise in cryogenic systems and microwave control electronics
- Published research in Nature/Science journals on quantum computing
- Familiarity with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum information theory
- Security clearance or ability to obtain DOE Q-level clearance
