Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for cryptography and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in quantum hardware optimization and error correction
- Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from government and private sector partners
- Mentor PhD researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum partnerships
- Establish industry standards for quantum-safe communication protocols
- Collaborate with NASA, IBM, and MIT on next-gen quantum initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or similar quantum programming frameworks
- Proven track record of securing federal research grants
- Published papers in Nature/Science or equivalent tier journals
- Experience with cryogenic quantum hardware systems
- Strong background in quantum error correction techniques
- US citizenship required for government project clearances
