Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning
- Lead experimental quantum computing projects using superconducting and photonic systems
- Develop quantum error correction protocols and fault-tolerant computing architectures
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to integrate quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Publish high-impact research in Nature/Science and present at IEEE/ACM conferences
- Secure $1M+ in research grants from NSF, DARPA, and industry partners
- Mentor PhD researchers and drive technical innovation in quantum software development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and quantum circuit design
- Published work in top-tier quantum computing journals (e.g., Quantum Science & Technology)
- Proficiency with quantum hardware platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Strong background in quantum information theory and topological quantum computing
- Experience securing federal research grants and managing R&D budgets
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional technical teams in high-stakes environments
