Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Develop error correction protocols to enhance quantum system stability and scalability
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bridge quantum software and physical qubit systems
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and present at global quantum conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and lead cross-functional project teams
- Secure federal grants and corporate partnerships for quantum initiatives
- Contribute to quantum cybersecurity frameworks for post-quantum encryption standards
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum hardware architectures (superconducting, trapped ion, photonic)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and computational complexity
- Experience with cloud quantum platforms (IBM Quantum, Amazon Braket, Azure Quantum)
- Demonstrated ability to secure research funding through grant writing
- Preferred: Familiarity with NISQ-era limitations and fault-tolerant computing roadmaps
