Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental quantum computing research using superconducting and photonic systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quantum solutions with classical computing frameworks
- Publish breakthrough research in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external research funding through NSF and DOE grant applications
- Mentor junior researchers and develop quantum computing curriculum for 2026 workforce readiness
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research with superconducting qubits
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Proficiency in quantum programming languages (Q#, Quipper, Qiskit)
- Published research in Nature/Science/Physical Review journals
- Experience with cryogenic quantum systems and photon-based computing
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum information theory, and complexity theory
