This role demands cross-disciplinary collaboration with our AI Ethics and Cybersecurity divisions to develop fault-tolerant quantum algorithms. You'll work in our Austin Innovation Hub, equipped with IBM Quantum One and D-Wave Advantage systems, while mentoring a team of quantum software specialists.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum-resistant encryption protocols for critical infrastructure systems
- Lead R&D in quantum machine learning models for predictive analytics platforms
- Develop error-correction frameworks for large-scale quantum processors
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum circuit architectures
- Create quantum simulation tools for client-specific use cases in finance and healthcare
- Author whitepapers on quantum security standards for IEEE and NIST submissions
- Mentor junior engineers in quantum algorithm development best practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years developing quantum algorithms using Qiskit or Cirq frameworks
- Proficiency in quantum error correction codes (surface codes, LDPC)
- Published research in quantum machine learning or quantum cryptography
- Expertise in post-quantum cryptographic standards (CRYSTALS-Kyber, SIKE)
- Experience with quantum annealing optimization problems
- Strong background in Python, C++, and quantum circuit design
- Clearance for government-contracted quantum security projects
