Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and networks overnight using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- Respond to and document security incidents according to established protocols
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing exercises
- Collaborate with global teams on threat intelligence analysis
- Document procedures and create knowledge base articles
- Participate in weekly SOC shift handover meetings
- Assist with patch management and system hardening tasks
- Conduct forensic analysis on security alerts during overnight hours
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux)
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification preferred (not required)
- Must have reliable transportation to our Charlotte facility
