Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, cryptography, and machine learning applications
- Conduct experimental research on quantum hardware systems with 100+ qubit capabilities
- Develop error correction protocols to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate theoretical models into practical quantum applications
- Author breakthrough research papers for top-tier publications and industry conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a culture of scientific excellence
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grant applications
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of quantum research experience
- Proven expertise in quantum circuit design and quantum algorithm development
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent peer-reviewed journals
- Hands-on experience with quantum computing platforms (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Strong background in linear algebra, complex analysis, and quantum information theory
- Proficiency in Python and quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex research projects with measurable outcomes
