Responsibilities
- Architect 5-10 year technology roadmaps for quantum, biotech, and AI convergence
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping next-gen systems (AR/VR, autonomous drones, neural interfaces)
- Secure $5M+ annual R&D funding through competitive grant applications and venture partnerships
- Develop ethical frameworks for emerging technologies aligned with UN Sustainable Goals
- Present strategic vision to C-suite and board members quarterly
- Monitor global tech policy shifts and influence industry standards through thought leadership
- Mentor junior researchers in patent development and academic publishing
Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Physics, or Engineering with 8+ years in emerging tech
- Proven track record of scaling R&D initiatives from concept to commercialization
- Expertise in at least two emerging domains: quantum computing, synthetic biology, or neuromorphic AI
- Experience securing federal grants (DARPA, NSF) and venture capital funding
- Published research in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, IEEE) with 15+ citations
- Deep understanding of technology ethics frameworks and regulatory landscapes
- Exceptional communication skills for translating complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
